Dis/Engage

Dis/Engage. A superhero romance comic: attention-sick hero Luis and his arch enemy the Ice Queen start developing feelings for each other. With the world watching their fights, will they be able to escape together?

A 25 page self-published comic created as my dissertation. Illustrated by Jade Sarson.


Sheer Brilliance

Shear Brilliance. Walter Weftweaver is a barber whose haircuts can change a person’s fate “as if by magic.” Toile, an unkempt 18 year-old, is desperate for some of that magic in his life. Winner of 3rd place in the 2011 Manga Jiman competition, Illustrated by Jade Sarson.

Truth and Confidence. Marcel, a journalism graduate, struggles to see good in the world after an undercover investigation. Luckily, his friend Sherie’s there to talk him out of it. Illustrated by Jade Sarson.

Mabel and Her Labels. Art student Mabel can only talk using dymo labels, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t sociable. Illustrated by Jade Sarson.

The First Decision

The First Decision. Dr. Otomo has created the world’s first artificial intelligence: Minerva. After showing her Earth’s wonders, the doctor – as well as the scientific community – await her first independent decision. Illustrated by Sarah Burgess.

The Headless Hipster

The Headless Hipster. Brienne, a Dullahan of Irish myth, tries to fit in with some new friends. She becomes self-conscious, though, when they start talking about their adventurous lives. Illustrated by Bozo Robo.
